LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA—This morning in Laguna Niguel, just prior to 7 a.m. an accident at Crown Valley Parkway and the 73 Freeway caused a vapor cloud from chlorine and acid spillage. Responders requested the Orange County Fire Authority's Hazardous Materials Crew to come in and assess the situation before Laguna Niguel Public Works could do their work.

"A pool cleaner was rear ended in his personal pickup truck," Orange County Fire Authority Captain Stephen Horner stated in interview. "The driver was carrying pool chemicals in various containers, some of which failed upon impact from the collision."

Chlorine, both granular and tablet form, as well as acid containers broke open, according to OCFA reports.
