Chili Cookoff Benefits Nepal Earthquake Victims

Faith Episcopal Church Community Chili Cook-off Tongues of Fire to Benefit Nepal Earthquake Victims and Children's Education

For the second year running, Faith Episcopal Church will present its Tongues of Fire Chili Cook-off on Saturday, May 30 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. This year’s proceeds will benefit the Nepal Earthquake Response Fund through Episcopal Relief and Development and a new children’s ministry program. Faith Episcopal Church is located at 27802 El Lazo Road in Laguna Niguel adjacent to the Ziggurat Federal Building.

Organizers are seeking both chili entries and event attendees to sample chili from the entire community. Chili entry categories include: True Chili, Anything Goes Chili, Chili Verde or Veggie/Vegan Chili and there are prizes for all winning entries.

Chili entrant fee is $10 and chili must be prepared off site and made from scratch. There is no entry fee for attendees, but tastes are $1 per chili and the event will offer sales of beer and wine, soft drinks and hot dogs.

Other features are live music, silent auction and opportunity drawings. The event kicks off at 3:00 p.m. with awards ceremony and drawings from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m.
