City Council Has Packed Agenda For Last Meeting of Year
Tuesday night's discussions will include a presentation to examine proposals for improvements to the Crown Valley Community Park.

Tuesday night is the last meeting of 2011 for the Laguna Niguel City Council before it breaks for the holidays.
It will discuss plans for improvements to the a project that has been in the making for a number of years. The city has been conducting an online survey to assess community needs for the park which is still ongoing and will be concluded on Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. Residents who would like to participate can click the link above. Preliminary results for the survey will be shared during a community workshop on Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Crown Valley Park View Room. All residents are invited to join.

- Officially adopting the new Laguna Niguel .
- Awarding the contract for the Crown Valley Community Park soccer field synthetic grass replacement project to Hellas Construction. The new synthetic grass replacement will cost an estimated $360,000.
- Approving the freeway maintenance agreement for Crown Valley Parkway between the state of California and the city of Laguna Niguel.
- Making revisions to the policies and procedures for city community services and the Cultural Arts Grants Programs. This will combine the funding for the two programs into one account.
- Allocating the after school grant program funds.
- Approving the memorandum of understanding with the Orange County Employees Association for both the maintenance, clerical and technical unit and the middle management, professional and supervisory unit. The council will also be adopting the compensation packages for these units. These compensation packages will be fixed.
- City Manager Tim Casey will also conduct a preliminary discussion of the rental policy for the new City Hall community room.
