Corona Identifies Laguna Niguel Man Killed in Fire
A 53-year-old man died when a fire ripped through his condo.

The Coroner’s Office today identified a 53-year- old man who was killed in a fire at his Laguna Niguel condo unit that apparently was sparked by his smoking in a recliner chair.
The man was identified as Charles Comstock, according to the Coroner’s Office.
The fire was reported about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday at 25093 Via Terracina, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Hurdle said.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, but the unit had been filled with smoke and Comstock was found lying on the floor next to his recliner, said OCFA Capt. Steve Concialdi.
Damage was estimated at $75,000 to the structure and $40,000 to the contents, Concialdi said.

Comstock apparently lived alone in the unit, Concialdi said.
