Fireworks Cache Found After Dana Point Explosion
On Wednesday in Dana Point, a loud explosion was heard by many in the area of a church and school. Here is what the bomb squad discovered.

DANA POINT, CA — An explosion that occurred in Dana Point Wednesday that was determined to be caused by an illegal firework, officials say.
Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies were called to Doheny Road and Domingo Avenue around noon after witnesses described seeing someone "throw something into the bushes" and drive away.
Moments later, an explosion occurred, though no one was injured.

"A suspect was located, interviewed, and searched," a spokesperson for Dana Point police services said.
Though officers found many illegal fireworks during the search, investigators determined the individual did not have a specific target. The Orange County District Attorney's Office will conduct follow up in this case, Patch was told.
