Hazmat Team, Bomb Squad Investigate Suspicious Package at WalMart in Laguna Niguel

A suspicious package in a Laguna Niguel Walmart parking lot prompted an investigation by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad and hazmat team Saturday night.

In the end, the package proved to be harmless.

The package was in a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot at 27470 Alicia Parkway. The area was evacuated as police investigated. At around 10 p.m., a robot was used to open the package but it did not to contain anything dangerous, according to the sheriff’s department.
