Hills Bandit Strikes Again at Wells Fargo

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount from the heist

The so-called Hills Bandit struck again Friday in Laguna Niguel, getting away with an undisclosed amount of cash from a Wells Fargo branch, a sheriff’s lieutenant said.

The robbery happened just before 12:30 p.m. at the bank’s branch at 30160 Town Center Drive, according to Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock.

The robber handed a teller a note demanding cash, but did not show a weapon, Hallock said.

The suspect was wearing a black cap with the brand “Titleist” on it, Hallock said. He was also wearing eye glasses, the lieutenant added.

The Hills Bandit last struck Aug. 5 at a U.S. Bank branch in Carlsbad. He is suspected of robbing a Wells Fargo branch May 16 in Laguna Hills, a Citibank in Laguna Hills on July 16 and another Citibank in Lake Forest on July 25, according to the FBI.

He is described as a white man about 5-foot-7 and between 45 to 50 years old who weighs about 190 pounds.
