Iconic Dana Point Harbor Eatery To Close Permanently Amid Renovation
The longstanding Harpoon Henry's at Dana Point Harbor will close after almost 50 years of service.

DANA POINT, CA — A longstanding Dana Point Harbor restaurant is closing its doors for good after almost 50 years of service, after Dana Point Harbor Partners announced the closure of Harpoon Henry's.
According to a news release, the locally-loved business will close its doors on Jan. 28, 2025. Founder Robert Mardian Jr. gave official employee notice of the impending closure following the holiday on Nov. 29.
For nearly 50 years, Harpoon Henry's has been a boardwalk favorite with a penchant for warm service, coastal ambiance and classic cuisine.

"We know how much this establishment means to the community, and we encourage everyone to come celebrate the final season with the Harpoon Henry's team," Dana Point Harbor Partners representative Bryon Ward said. "We were glad to have partnered with Harpoon Henry's during COVID to expand their patio along the waterfront, which has become a more permanent fixture for waterfront dining in the harbor."
According to Dana Point Harbor Partners, the next scheduled phase of landside construction along the harbor's waterfront buildings is planned to start mid-summer 2025, with completion projected for fall 2026.

"It is bittersweet to see a fan favorite choose to close early as we prepare for an improved harbor experience, but we understand balancing current and future business needs and respect each owner's decision on when its best to wind operations down," Ward continued.
