Local Business Owners Can Stop By Free Open House In Dana Point

The free open house is a part of a city initiative to help support local businesses in Dana Point. What to know.

DANA POINT, CA — Do you need a little extra help learning about how to open your business in Dana Point?

The City of Dana Point is hosting a free Permitting Open House, "The Road to Opening Day," on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

The open house is designed for business owners, operators, entrepreneurs, architects, commercial contractors and investors planning to open or expand a business in Dana Point.

According to the city, the open house will allow business owners to connect directly to city staff and learn more about the permitting process.

"Navigating the permitting process can feel overwhelming, especially if you're a small business owner, first-time applicant, or still in the early stage of planning a project," City Economic Development & Housing Manager Jaimie To said. "Dana Point is a business-friendly city and that means doing what we can to make the process of getting your business open as easy, smooth and efficient as possible."

During the open house, attendees will provide specialized guidance on:

  • Which departments may be involved in your project.
  • When different reviews and approvals are needed.
  • Who to contact about planning, zoning, tenant improvements, engineering and more.
  • Understanding additional requirements for restaurants and food-service establishments.

The Permitting Open House takes place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Dana Point Community Center, 34052 Del Obispo St.
