A man sporting a fake beard was apprehended shortly after he allegedly made a failed attempt to rob a Wells Fargo bank branch in Mission Viejo today, authorities said.

The attempted robbery occurred just after 10 a.m. at 26151 La Paz Road, according to Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock.The suspect, who was not immediately identified, entered the bank wearing a blue skull cap, sunglasses and a fake gray beard, according to a surveillance image released by sheriff.
