Mara Steves' Accident Site on the Agenda for April 5 City Council Meeting
The City Council will consider new safety recommendations following a community discussion at the March 23 Traffic Commission meeting.

The will discuss the recommendations for Moulton Parkway and Nueva Vista Drive on Tuesday, April 5, during the regular council meeting.
The commission recommended that no changes be made to the intersection controls and timing at Moulton Parkway and Nueva Vista Drive.
But it is recommending that additional police enforcement and radar trailers be added to the area as equipment and personnel permit and is recommending a review of traffic conditions on Moulton Parkway, including the sight distance for vehicles making right turns on red from Nueva Vista Drive to Moulton Parkway.

The recommendations follow a safety review conducted as a result of a fatal accident Feb. 13. In that crash was hit by a car while kneeling on the sidewalk trying to help a stray dog that had entered into traffic, according to officials.

The recommendation came after some residents complained that speed bumps on Adelanto Drive are diverting traffic to Monte Verde Drive—causing speeding on that road instead.
The commission is recommending the city study the conditions for six months and then review the situation.
Also on the agenda are the purchase of furniture for the new ; consideration of applicants for alternates to the Investment, Banking and Audit Committee; and a proclamation naming May 1-7 Public Service Recognition Week.
