Rancho Mission Viejo Fire Station Opens
The Rancho Mission Viejo Fire Station is staffed and ready to protect surrounding communities just in time for fire season.

On Wednesday, July 16, Orange County Fire Authority, Rancho Mission Viejo and the County of Orange had a grand opening ceremony to celebrate OCFA’s 72nd fire station.
Fire Station 56, is approximately 10,000 square feet with eight dorm rooms to accommodate two fire companies. The station sits on a one-acre site that was dedicated to OCFA by the Rancho Mission Viejo Company. The lot enjoys an expansive view of the Ortega Valley and San Juan Capistrano.

Station 56 has a Paramedic Engine and a Type 3 Brush Engine with four firefighters assigned to the station every day. Two of the firefighters are highly trained paramedics.
Fire Station 56 complements the community’s style and landscape. Designed by Architect Irving Gill, the Spanish Progressive style of simplicity and minimalist form is reminiscent of the California Mission style. It features simple shapes, stucco walls, deeply recessed arched doors and arched window openings. Orange County Fire Authority Station 56, began running emergency calls on Friday, July 10, 2015.

Fire Station 56 is located in the Village of Sendero within the unincorporated area of south Orange County known as Rancho Mission Viejo. This station will serve the communities of Rancho Mission Viejo, Ladera Ranch, San Juan Capistrano and respond to all calls on Ortega Highway out to the Orange/Riverside County line.
