More than $825K in Local Road Work Ahead

The city will be receiving a $412,725 grant from the Orange County Transportation Authority to repave La Paz Road from Kings Road to Aliso Creek. The total project cost estimate is $825,450, the city will be using Measure M funds to cover the difference.

Crews were out on Tuesday doing some preliminary work headed our way soon.

The city will be receiving a $412,725 grant from the Orange County Transportation Authority to repave La Paz Road from Kings Road to Aliso Creek.

The total project cost estimate is $825,450 and the city will be using Measure M funds to cover the difference, according to City Manager, Tim Casey. 

The city’s Geotechnical Consulting Firm, GMU, is preparing a soils report which is required by OCTA as part of the La Paz Road Rehabilitation Grant, Casey said.

These photos above show deflection testing of the existing pavement which is a part of this report. The van and trailer are performing the deflection testing.   

The testing helps to determine the condition of the existing pavement and to locate sections which might require removal and reconstruction prior to the overlay, Casey said.
