Suspected DUI Crash in Dana Point Sends Two to Hospital
The suspected drunk driver and the driver he crashed into both seriously injured in the crash according to Orange County Sheriff's Dept.

DANA POINT, CA — Two were hospitalized on Wednesday evening for injuries suffered in a suspected DUI crash. The driver was one of the injured parties.
Reports from Orange County Sheriff's Department state that the suspected drunk driver in a black Acura ran a red light at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday evening near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Selva Road. The suspected drunk driver was seriously injured in the crash according to Orange County Sheriff's Department Lt. Scott Ostash.
During the accident, the suspected drunk driver ran the red light and crashed into another vehicle and seriously injuring its driver.

Reports from OCSD state that the woman driving the vehicle, a white Mercedes, may have suffered a fractured pelvis.
Both victims were transported as trauma according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz. "The victim, a woman in her 50s driving a white Mercedes and the driver of the black Acura, a male in his late 30s were both transported to local area hospital," Kurtz said.

"A third vehicle was involved but the driver was unharmed," he said.
The suspected drunken driver, who was not wearing a seat-belt, was taken to the hospital to be treated for a facial injury, Ostash said.
The driver will be arrested on suspicion of DUI once he is released from the hospital according to OCSD.
