Whiz Kids' Accomplishment: When fifth-grade classmates Annaliese Muth and Kendall Nadan were given an assignment to write a persuasive essay, they knew they wanted to write about helping animals in the animal shelter.  Then they decided to take it one step further.  Discussing the project at recess with friends and fellow fifth-graders Katie Robinson and Shaelyn Stewart, the girls decided to run a lemonade stand  to raise money to donate to their local animal shelter.  Annaliese  led the team of friends by organizing the event.  The result: More than $70 raised in less than two hours selling lemonade and cookies outside of Ralphs grocery store at 28231 Crown Valley Pkwy.

Whiz Kids' Key to Awesomeness: Compassion, enthusiasm and determination.
