11 Most Popular Spring Break Destinations In California

From San Diego to San Francisco, HomeToGo ranked the most popular spring break destinations in California for 2018. Do you agree?

CALIFORNIA – From San Diego to San Francisco, California is one of the most popular vacation destinations. In fact, 211.7 million in-person trips to the state were recorded in 2017, making it the top travel destination in the country, according to nonprofit Visit California.

With spring break around the corner, HomeToGo recently released its rankings of the most popular – and most cost-effective – destinations in the Golden State. The vacation rental search engine compiled its rankings based on the site's advanced booking data between March 3 and April 14, 2018. HomeToGo looked at more than 50 California destinations, as well as the average accommodation prices per person per night for the same six-week period.

Los Angeles ranked as the most popular and most costly spring break 2018 destination in California, while Santa Cruz came in as the most affordable spot. San Diego ranked as both the second most popular and second most expensive destination. La Jolla, a coastal community within the city of San Diego, rounded out the top three most popular locations in the Golden State.
