2016 Amgen Tour of California

Starting on May 15, San Diego is set to play host to the first stage of the 2016 Amgen Tour of California. Giuseppe Restaurants & Fine Catering is proud to announce that it is the Official Culinary Partner of the San Diego Local Organizing Committee - 2016 Amgen Tour of California, helping increase event awareness, and show support to both participants and enthusiasts of this elite sporting event.

Owner Giuseppe Ciuffa is an endurance athlete and avid cyclist. He stands behind his mantra: “Mangia Bene e Vivi Meglio,” which means, “Eat Well and Live Better,” making a partnership with Tour of California, the largest annual spectator sporting event in California and largest cycling event in North America, a natural fit.

“We are excited to have the 2016 Amgen Tour of California kick-off in America’s Finest City, and are honored to be a partner,” said Ciuffa. “I am passionate about health and fitness, as well as only the best food which is reflected in the dishes I create for my customers. Ciuffa will also be catering to over 1,100 VIP’s and athletes at the San Diego finish line, serving nutritional dishes made from the best produce available throughout San Diego County, while also highlighting the season’s best flavors and making the ingredients shine in every dish.

The cycling chef owns Giuseppe Restaurants & Fine Catering, a thriving culinary enterprise comprised of three restaurants: Bottega Americano in San Diego’s East Village; Caroline's Seaside Cafe at the UCSD Scripps Institute of Oceanography Seaside Forum; and Museum Café at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla. His flagship business Giuseppe’s Fine Catering is highly sought after by high-profile brands to cater events ranging from intimate dinners to charity galas.
