Best Foodie Cities In CA: List

CALIFORNIA – If you love good food, California is one of the best places to live or visit. Three cities in the Golden State were ranked among the top 10 best foodie cities in the country, according to a new list by WalletHub.

To determine the best and cheapest local foodie scenes, experts at the personal finance website compared more than 180 of the largest U.S. cities across 29 key metrics. The data set ranged from affordability and accessibility of high-quality restaurants to food festivals, craft breweries and wineries per capita.

Portland ranked as the best foodie city in America, followed by San Francisco, Miami, New York and Los Angeles, according to the report.

Coming in second overall, San Francisco tied for first with New York for the most restaurants and most coffee shops per capita. The city also ranked fourth for the most gourmet speciality-food stores per capita.

Los Angeles, which ranked fifth overall, came in third for the most gourmet specialty-food stores per capita.

San Diego also ranked among the top 10 best foodie cities, coming in ninth overall on the list. America's Finest City tied for first with Santa Rosa, Portland, Seattle and Denver for the most breweries and wineries per capita.
