Fall Evening Lecture Series at Birch Aquarium

The Jeffrey B. Graham Perspectives on Ocean Science Lecture Series features engaging presentations on research conducted worldwide by scientists from and connected to Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego.

Oct. 10: The Limpet Circus: Behavioral Ecology of the Owl Limpet.

Stephanie Schroeder, a visiting marine biologist at the Birch Aquarium, talks about the owl limpet, a fighting gastropod (read: snail), and how it can change sexes.


Nov. 14: Coral Reefs: Ecosystems in Decline.

Stuart Sandin, a Scripps marine ecologist, talks about
oral reefs, their title as the most productive and biodiverse environments on the planet and how we can protect these dying and fragile ecosystems.

Birch Aquarium admission and parking are included. Light refreshments will be served.
