
Elder Abuse: The Crime of the Twenty-First Century?
Please join us for this month’s lecture as we welcome Paul Greenwood, JD, who will present “Elder Abuse: The Crime of the Twenty-First Century?” Greenwood has been a prosecutor since March 1993, and he has been involved in the prosecution of more than four hundred felony cases of elder and dependent abuse, both physical and financial. He has assisted in drafting elder abuse legislation for California Evidence Code and was featured on both CBS’s Eye on America and NBC’s Nightly News. He was a presenter at the first International Conference of Elder Abuse held in Toronto, Canada, in 1998. Additionally, he is an instructor with the California District Attorneys Association (CDAA), the National District Attorneys Association, and the American Prosecutors Institute. In 1999, he was named one of the Lawyers of the Year by California Lawyer magazine. Greenwood was inducted into the Elder Rights Advocacy Hall of Fame in 2011 by National Association of Legal Services Developers.

Directions:
- From Interstate 5 North or South: Exit La Jolla Village Drive West
- Right on Villa La Jolla Drive
- Left on Gilman Drive
- Left into Parking Lot 602 (first stop sign) (There are 4 handicap-accessible spaces in this lot.)
- From parking lot, walk towards Medical Teaching Facility (MTF)
- Right through MTF and enter Biomedical Science Building through glass doors
- Pass the first hallway and take the elevator to the second floor
- Exit the elevator and go left; at the end of the hallway, go left
- Follow signs to Liebow Auditorium, which is the last room on the left
Free parking is available by phoning (858) 534-6299 AT LEAST THREE WORKING DAYS IN ADVANCE to receive a free parking permit. Attendees may also purchase permits at the parking kiosk on Gilman Drive or park at the metered sites.
