Governor Jerry Brown will visit at pharmaceutical company in La Jolla on Thursday morning and sign legislation he says will help create jobs and grow the economy.
Assembly Bill 93 and Senate Bill 90 establish the Governor's Economic Development Initiative. It offers a statewide sales tax exemption on manufacturing equipment or research, as well as development equipment purchases for biotech and manufacturing companies. It also offers hiring credits for businesses in areas with high unemployment and poverty.
