Three cities in California ranked among the top 10 healthiest cities in the country, according to a new study. One claimed the top spot.

CALIFORNIA – From the beautiful beaches to the plentiful parks, California is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors. Of course, there's also the wonderful weather.

Since Californians have no excuse to not go outdoors, it shouldn't come as a surprise that a number of cities in the Golden State ranked as some of the healthiest in the country, according to a study by WalletHub.

But the personal finance website didn't just look at the number of hiking trails and public parks to identify the healthiest and unhealthiest cities in the country. The study's authors compared 174 cities — including the 150 most populated U.S. cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state — across four key dimensions: health care, food, fitness and green space.
