Iberico Spanish Bistro and Gin Club Opens on Prospect
Enjoy tapas at La Jolla's newest restaurant—Iberico Spanish Bistro and Gin Club.

A restaurant has finally opened in the old Vigilucci’s space on Prospect Street. Iberico Spanish Bistro and Gin Club opened last week and is already making waves for its shareable dishes and crafted gin cocktails.
Iberico serves both lunch and dinner from its second floor location at 909 Prospect St. (at Drury Lane). The menu is broken down into soup, salad, cocas (flatbreads), bocatas (sandwiches), appetizers, tapas, entrees, paella, seafood, meats and poultry. Tapas include calamari stuffed with chorizo and roasted garlic, and a red wine braised oxtail. All tapas are priced $6-$12. Paella, which serves two, is $24-$29. And seafood, meats, poultry and other entrees are $22-$45.
The space is chic with blue glass chandeliers, hardwood floors, throw rugs, exposed brick walls and a wall made of wine glasses. The dining room opens up onto an outdoor patio and the bar is hugged by lounge seating. And a large bar welcomes guest near the entrance.
Iberico, which is above Forever Fondue, signed a 5-year lease for the 5,920-square-foot space in March. The lease was valued at $662,783.
