MCASD's ‘Approximately Infinite Universe’ Art Exhibit Is Inspired By Sci-Fi
What does extraterrestrial life look like? Come find out at Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego La Jolla's newest exhibit.

Approximately Infinite Universe is inspired by science fiction, time travel and explorations of other worlds.
The exhibit at Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla features 17 artists questioning life beyond planet Earth. Artworks investigate the ideas of utopia and dystopia, aliens and cyborgs, bodily mutations and reproductive technologies.

Featured artists were influenced by science fiction writers from the 1960s and 70s. Artists like Ursula K. Le Guin, Octavia E. Butler, and Samuel R. Delany emerged during political and social movements. The popular Star Trek franchise stemmed from science fiction writing and is referenced in the exhibit.
Explore out of this world artwork at MCASD La Jolla through Sunday, Sept. 1. The museum is open everyday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on Wednesdays.

General admission is $10, seniors/students is $5, military/students and 25 and under are free.
