San Diego County Seeks Owners Of Over $1M In Unclaimed Money
About 2,200 people, businesses and organizations may be owed money from the county.
SAN DIEGO, CA — San Diego County is seeking to return more than $1 million in unclaimed money to residents, businesses, nonprofits and other organizations during its annual claim period.
The county is holding more than $1.011 million in unclaimed funds that could belong to about 2,200 potential claimants, according to the San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office.
County Treasurer-Tax Collector Larry Cohen will launch the 2026 unclaimed monies claim period Thursday with an event dubbed "San Diego's Largest Lost & Found."

The claim period runs Aug. 13 through Oct. 11. People can search the county's unclaimed money records to see whether they or a family member, business or organization is owed money.
