Meet La Jolla Country Day School's new Middle School science teacher Debrah Fine.

Debrah Fine joins La Jolla Country Day School’s Science Department as a Middle School Science Teacher, under the direction of Brian Murphy, Director of the Middle School.
Prior to joining the faculty at LJCDS, Debrah worked as a Staff Scientist at the law firm Choate, Hall, and Stewart in Boston, Massachusetts prosecuting patents for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.

Last year, Debrah decided to change career paths in order to pursue her passion for teaching and is thrilled to be a member of the prestigious LJCDS faculty.
Debrah received her Ph.D. in Virology from Harvard University and her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles. Debrah was very actively involved in science education throughout college and graduate school, working as a teaching fellow at both UCLA and Harvard and as a teaching consultant at the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning at Harvard. Debrah was a recipient of the Harvard University Certificate of Distinction in Teaching Award for her work teaching a freshman pre-medical chemistry and biology course at Harvard College. In her spare time, Debrah enjoys practicing yoga, hiking, cooking, and hanging out with her seven-year-old son, Jackson.
