Motorcyclist Suffers Broken Leg In Weekend Hit-and-Run On Mission Bay Drive

BREAKING: Cops are seeking the driver of a seafoam green Jeep Cherokee or similar type SUV.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA – A 39-year-old motorcyclist suffered a broken lower leg Saturday when he was struck by an SUV that fled the scene in San Diego's Mission Bay area, authorities said.

The hit-and-run crash was reported at 2:16 p.m. in the 4400 block of Mission Bay Drive, according to San Diego police Sgt. Michael Tansey.

The man was riding his black 2008 Harley Davidson and was stopped in traffic in the left northbound on Mission Bay Drive when a man in a southbound seafoam green SUV made an abrupt, illegal U-turn and crashed into the right corner of the motorcycle, Tansey said.

The SUV fled the scene leaving the motorcyclist with a broken right tibia and fibula, the sergeant said. The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The SUV driver was described as a shirtless white man in his 20s wearing a pair of black shorts, Tansey said.
