Nekter Juice Bar Now Serving Your Daily Serving of Fruits & Veggies in La Jolla

A line formed around the block this morning for the opening of Nekter Juice Bar on Kline Street in La Jolla.

The juice shop, in the space formerly home to Xtreme Pizza, serves juices, smoothies, acai bowls, wheatgrass and ginger shots, healthy snacks and carefully crafted cleanses for the ambition. Cleanses consist of six drinks daily made from 15 pounds of cold pressed fruits and veggies to detoxify the body.

Menu items include the popular Berry Banana Burst smoothie with fresh berries, banana, raw vanilla bean cashew nut butter and agave nectar, the Glow juice with carrot, parsley, kale, spinach, celery, lemon and ginger; and the Chocolate Dream smoothie with nut milk, cacao, carob, dates, avocado and agave nectar.

This is Nekter's 14th location. Owners Steve and Alexis Schulze opened their first Nekter in Orange County three years ago. Since then, they have opened in Corona Del Mar, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach and Santa Monica and other Orange County and Los Angeles locales. The La Jolla juice bar is the first in San Diego.

In addition to the liquid refreshment, Nekter stocks mini kale and quinoa salads, trail mix, oat bars, fruit and other snacks to fuel your day.

Nekter will have drink specials all weekend long to celebrate its opening.
