OEX Dive and Kayak in La Jolla To Become Everyday California

OEX Dive and Kayak in La Jolla will soon be more than tours and rentals.

OEX Dive and Kayak in La Jolla will officially become Everyday California within the next two months. OEX has been in business in San Diego since 1995, with locations in La Jolla, Mission Bay and Sunset Beach.

Owner Chris Lynch said after 18 years in business, the La Jolla location is separating from the other two locations and changing its name to coincide with branching out into a new market—action water sports. He said the new brand has been a work in progress since September 2012.

OEX currently offers kayak, scuba and snorkeling tours of La Jolla Shores, as well as equipment rentals for stand-up paddle boarding and diving. Lynch said in addition to tours and rentals, Everyday California will sell clothing and merchandise.

“We’re unique from other action sports companies like Hurley and O’Neil because we actually do the sports we’re representing,” Lynch said.

The new website, everydaycalifornia.com, will have an integrated booking system for tours so customers can see how many seats are available before making a reservation, he explained. Customers will also be able to book directly from Groupon when offers become available and purchase merchandise online.

“You’re going to be able to come to us, be at the headquarters and personally connect with everyone who works at the company,” Lynch said.

The Everyday California website is still undergoing maintenance, but the Facebook page is live now and regularly updated with the company's latest news and merchandise.
