San Diego County Announces First Ever 2-Card Ballot for November Election
A large number of contests means San Diegans will for the first time get a two-card ballot. Breaking.

SAN DIEGO, CA — As a result of a large number of contests in the Nov. 8 presidential general election, registered voters in San Diego County will for the first time get a two-card ballot, county officials announced Tuesday.
Runoff elections for public office, and state and local propositions, will take up both sides of each card for the Nov. 8 general election, according to the county Registrar of Voters Office.
The ballot will include races for president, U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, the California Legislature, 17 state propositions and two countywide ballot measures.

Numerous local offices are also up for grabs — including battles for San Diego City Attorney and the City Council's District 9. Additionally, the city of San Diego will present voters with a dozen ballot measures.
Considering the length of the ballot and what is traditionally a high turnout for a presidential election, the registrar is urging voters to plan ahead in order to save time at the polls.

One time-saving suggestion, county officials say, is to sign up as a permanent mail ballot voter by going to Sdvote.com. More than 960,000 mail ballots will go out to homes starting Tuesday, Oct.11. When they arrive, mail ballot voters are urged to act on them as soon as they’ve made their decisions.
Voters interested in casting their ballots at their assigned poll on Election Day are encouraged to mark their selections on their sample ballot pamphlet beforehand. Voters can take their marked pamphlets into their polling location to use as a guide while casting their official ballot.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Assigned polling locations are listed on the back of the Sample Ballot and Voter Information Pamphlet mailed to registered voters, or can be found by using the county's online polling place locator.
San Diego County residents with questions about voting in the Nov. 8 election can call 858-565-5800 or visit the Registrar's website.
