Theo and the Zydeco Patrol Spices up La Jolla

The band will bring a hot Cajun musical flavor to the La Jolla Concerts by the Sea on Sunday.

Theo and the Zydeco Patrol will bring hot southern licks to a cool Sunday afternoon at the La Jolla Concerts by the Sea in Scripps Park by the Cove.

Zydeco music is a unique blend of Cajun, blues and R&B musical styles. It found its genesis and evolution in the traditional Creole styles of Louisiana.

Musically, Zydeco is fast tempo and prominently features the button accordion and washboard, along with the guitar, bass, drums and the Cajun fiddle. Vocals are often sung in the original Cajun French of Southwest Louisiana.
