• Judge grants bail over DA objection in animal abuse case (signalscv.com) — A woman accused of keeping hundreds of animals in filthy, neglectful conditions at a Lake Hughes property has been released on her own recognizance, despite prosecutors' objections. Judges imposed strict conditions barring her from animal-related work and from visiting the Lake Hughes site without supervision. The case involves what officials call the largest domestic animal seizure in county history.
