1 Arrest, 23 Citations, 3 Warrants: Lake Elsinore DUI Checkpoint

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A DUI/driver's license checkpoint set up Saturday on state Route 74 and Mermack Road in Lake Elsinore netted one arrest and 23 citations, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The checkpoint, which was operated by deputies stationed out of the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station, ran from 9 p.m. Saturday through 3 a.m. Sunday.

A total of 1,914 vehicles were screened at the checkpoint. One person was arrested for driving under the influence; 23 citations were issued to unlicensed drivers and/or those driving on a suspended/revoked license. Additionally, three misdemeanor warrants were served during the operation, and a total of eight vehicles were towed, according to the sheriff's department.
