RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — The I-15 Freeway northbound through Eastvale was slowed Monday after a dump truck and several other vehicles collided just south of State Route 60. Just after 6 a.m., a full dump truck and at least one other vehicle collided, causing a chain reaction crash, according to CHP dispatch operators. As many as six vehicles were involved in follow-up crashes, according to reports from the scene. "It looks really bad," a witness said.

The collision also involved a white Honda Civic, a blue Chevrolet van, and a black SUV that had spun and was blocking lanes, according to CHP.

Emergency responders were on the scene and had closed the #3-5 lanes to assist the injured. Caltrans would clean up the mess, but the closure could take "a few hours," according to CHP.

Though injuries were reported, it was not immediately clear how many people were injured as a result of the collision.

This report will be updated as more information is released.
