Corrales allegedly killed Juan Antonio Navarro in the 10000 block of Mission Boulevard, near San Sevaine Way, less than two blocks south of the Pomona (60 ) Freeway, just after midnight Thursday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Sgt. Carlos Mendoza alleged the suspect and victim were involved in an unspecified dispute, and during the altercation, Corrales pulled a knife and inflicted "multiple stab wounds" that mortally injured Navarro.

The suspect immediately fled the location, according to the sergeant.

He said witnesses spotted Navarro down in the street and called 911.

Paramedics and deputies reached the location a short time later. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Central Homicide Unit detectives identified Corrales as the alleged assailant later that day, and he was tracked to the area of Vernon Avenue and 40th Street, where he was taken into custody without incident Thursday evening.

No further details about the alleged attack, including a possible motive, were disclosed.

Background information on the suspect was unavailable Friday.
