Wildomar Amateur Boxer Heads To USA Boxing National Junior Olympics, Summerfest: Help Him Get There

Steven Rojas is a special kind of boxer, his home gym, Temecula Boxing Training Academy, says. Here's how to help support his journey.

WILDOMAR, CA — A Wildomar 17-year-old is competing this summer in the USA Boxing National Ranking Junior Olympics in Wichita, Kansas, and it will take a village to get him there.

Steven Rojas, a former Wildomar Elementary and David A. Brown Middle School student, is currently a junior at Elsinore High School. He has launched a fundraising campaign to achieve his goals at the travel tournament.

The aspiring boxer trains at the Temecula Boxing Training Academy, which shared about Steven's achievements, saying:

"This kid is special."

"He’s an active volunteer at David A. Brown middle school, and never fails to help when anything is needed," his mother Liz Rojas told Patch. "Steven is truly an inspiring young man with so much discipline, dedication, and integrity. Hopefully, our community joins in cheering him on!"

If he succeeds in his goal, he will come back as a nationally ranked boxer.

The National Junior Olympics and Summer Festival is one of USA Boxing’s marquee competitions and the third national event on the 2026 calendar. The weeklong event will feature five days of competition across multiple divisions, including male and female PeeWee, Bantam, Intermediate, Junior, Youth, Elite and Masters categories. Preliminary competition begins Monday, June 22, and continues through Saturday, June 27.

USA Boxing CEO/Executive Director Mike McAtee described the coming event.

“We are excited to return to the Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center in Wichita, Kansas, for the 2026 USA Boxing National Junior Olympics and Summer Festival,” said USA Boxing CEO/Executive Director Mike McAtee. “This event continues to stand as one of USA Boxing’s biggest and most anticipated events of the year for USA Boxing, and we are looking forward to building on that momentum once again in the city of Wichita.”

The third USA Boxing National Junior Olympics and Summer Festival competition in Wichita will be held at Bob Brown Expo Hall inside Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center.
