A good Samaritan parked on the right-hand side of the roadway and attempted to free the person trapped inside the truck but was unable to do so, CHP said.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire firefighters were able to forcibly extract the patient and took them to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to spokesperson Maggie Cline De La Rosa.

The patient's status was not immediately known.

CHP noted that a heavy-duty tow truck had been called to the scene to assist in retrieving the downed vehicle. No other information was immediately available.
