• Lake Elsinore prepares for major changes downtown, including new City Hall (pressenterprise.com) — Lake Elsinore's new $31.3 million City Hall is set to open Oct. 1 at Main Street and Graham Avenue, bringing larger offices, a council chamber, and a rooftop deck overlooking the lake. The project anchors a broader Downtown Master Plan that also includes a new waterfront‑focused park and a 10,000‑square‑foot downtown library slated to open in late 2026.
   

• Ex-School Janitor Admits Molesting Lake Elsinore Girls (patch.com) — A former Lake Elsinore Unified School District janitor has pleaded guilty in Riverside County to felony charges involving lewd acts on two girls and possession of child pornography. He remains jailed without bail while awaiting an Oct. 2 sentencing hearing in Murrieta, and officials have not said whether the victims were district students or which campuses he worked at.
   

• Padres' Joe Musgrove: Likely to require one more rehab start (cbssports.com) — Padres pitcher Joe Musgrove is expected to make one more minor‑league rehab start before returning from a long elbow layoff, after recent outings with Triple‑A El Paso and Single‑A Lake Elsinore. His rehab work with the Lake Elsinore Storm ties the big‑league comeback directly to the local ballpark, giving area fans a brief look at a major leaguer on the mend.
