CORONA, CA — A wind-driven brush fire that erupted Monday southeast of Corona was quickly contained by Cal Fire aircraft and firefighters, with the flames consuming less than an acre.
The non-injury brusher was reported about 10:30 a.m. in the area of Eagle Canyon and Cajalco roads, less than a mile east of Interstate 15, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
A Cal Fire air tanker was the first to reach the location, and according to reports from the scene, the tanker immediately went to work dropping fire retardant, preventing the blaze from jumping several roads, despite intense Santa Ana winds.
