Cats Of the Internet Bow Down To California Cougar's Epic Stunt

Not your typical cat-stuck-on-pole story. We knew cats could climb but this is incredible.

You’ve seen Puss in Boots. You’ve seen The Cat in the Hat. But have you seen a cougar on a utility pole? That’s definitely a new one.

Residents in the rural area in Lucerne Valley witnessed that firsthand Tuesday. Victorville Daily Press staff photographer Peter Day snapped this incredible photo of the mountain lion perched on a power pole and it quickly went viral.

A resident living across from the utility pole told the Daily Press the mountain lion was likely startled by loud children being dropped off by the school bus.
