Ceremony This Weekend to Pay Tribute to Fallen Servicemen and Women
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4089 is hosting the "Remembering Our Fallen" movable wall in nearby Temecula.

TEMECULA, CA - A traveling exhibit that honors members of the U.S. Armed Forces from California who gave their lives in the War on Terror will be formally unveiled during a ceremony Saturday morning in Temecula.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4089 is hosting the "Remembering Our Fallen" movable wall at the Promenade, where it will be available to experience until Oct. 14.
The 230-foot long exhibit bears the names and photographs of more than 700 soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines from California who have made the ultimate sacrifice since 9/11. There are identical traveling exhibits in 15 other states.

Riverside County Supervisor Chuck Washington is slated to make opening remarks at the ceremony, which gets underway at 9 a.m.
"I am truly honored ... by the tremendous sacrifice these young men and women have made to protect our freedom," Washington said. "I encourage everyone to witness this touching memorial to honor of the heroes of the War on Terror."

Washington, a former naval aviator, pointed out that five men -- two Marines and three soldiers -- from the Temecula Valley have been killed in campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan going back to July 2009.
A color guard presentation is scheduled as part of Saturday's ceremony.
