CORONA, CA — The California Highway Patrol released more details Monday about a man who was apparently accidentally run over and killed last week by a trucker in Temescal Valley.

Kenneth Clingman, 78, of Corona died at the scene in the 23000 block of Temescal Canyon Road shortly before 6 p.m. Friday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau.

California Highway Patrol Officer Juan Quintero said the CHP's investigation showed Clingman parked his Toyota Tacoma next to a big rig that was parked in a dirt lot on Temescal Canyon, just east of Interstate 15. Clingman got out of his truck and stood along the right side of the big rig.

The male trucker — a 63-year-old Jackson, Mississippi resident — was unaware Clingman was standing nearby and began to drive off. In the process, his rig ran over Clingman.

No arrests were reported.
