RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A pickup truck driver who was killed this week along state Route 74, east of Lake Elsinore, apparently did not see the big rig that he pulled in front of, according to details released Friday by the California Highway Patrol.
John Camp, 51, of Perris was heading north on Mazie Avenue around 5:08 a.m. Thursday. When he neared the stop sign at state Route 74 in his 2002 Toyota Tundra, he was driving at about 10-15 mph, the CHP reported.
A 57-year-old Ontario man driving a 2017 Kenworth was heading east on the state route at about 50 mph.

Camp failed to see the big rig and pulled out onto SR-74. The rig's front end hit the driver's side of Camp's truck, causing the Toyota to spin out of control and crash into a parked vehicle on Mazie.
Camp, who was wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. The big rig driver was not injured.
