Driver Safety Enforcement Operation Underway In Lake Elsinore

Officers will be watching drivers engaged in some of the most dangerous driver behaviors, including red-light and stop sign runners.

Drivers need to be aware of people who are walking. Please slow down and never drive impaired. We all have places to go, so let’s remember that safety is a shared responsibility.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Riverside County Sheriff's Department's Lake Elsinore officers are planning a traffic safety operation this week, focusing on speeding drivers, making illegal turns, and failing to yield to bicyclists or pedestrians. They will also watch drivers who run through stop signs and red lights, among the most dangerous driver behaviors.

Deputy Tony Grisso spoke on the need for safety in Southwest Riverside County and beyond.

"There's a lot happening on our roads, and everyone deserves to get to their destination safely," Grisso said. "Drivers need to be aware of people who are walking. Please slow down and never drive impaired. We all have places to go, so let's remember that safety is a shared responsibility."
