Elsinore Valley Water District's Flagler Wells Add Drinking Water
The district recently completed the first well in a series of projects to boost local supplies.

LAKE ELSINORE-WILDOMAR, CA - From Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District: Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) celebrated the completion of the Flagler Wells, the first of its Near-Term projects designed to expedite several water supply projects that will provide a local, sustainable supply for the region.
EVMWD is tapping in to new supplies by replacing irrigation and underutilized wells and extracting and treating the groundwater for drinking water. The well conversions, along with other short-term projects, will increase EVMWD’s total supplies by 4,860 acre-feet of water per year, enough to supply as many as 9,720 households. The program is just one of the many ways EVWMD is ensuring a reliable water supply for the future.
“With the completion of this project, we will continue to increase our water reliability within our service area,” said Andy Morris, vice president of the EVMWD Board of Directors. “The Flagler Wells mark EVMWD’s commitment to maximizing the use of our local resources and sustaining supplies for the future.”

The Flagler Wells, once irrigation wells used for agriculture, were converted to potable drinking water wells. The project, completed in just over a year, will add 1500-acre feet of drinking water supplies to the EVMWD water system, which equates to enough water for 3,000 households per year.
