Firefighters Halt Brush Fire In Lake Elsinore

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — Firefighters are battling a 64-acre brush fire in Lake Elsinore Monday.
The fire was reported just before 2 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Walker Canyon Road and Lake Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The fire burned 64 acres, was 50% contained and forward progress was stopped as of 8 p.m. Sunday, according to Cal Fire.

Responding firefighters initially reported approximately 10 acres burning upslope in light vegetation. Multiple air and ground resources were assigned.
No injuries or evacuations were immediately reported.
