LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A Sunday crash injured one person after a vehicle went over the side of the roadway in Lake Elsinore, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The incident was reported shortly before 4:45 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Railroad Canyon Road and Church Street, officials said.

Fire crews were able to remove one person from the vehicle by using a rope rescue system in just under one hour, and the victim was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Westbound Railroad Canyon Road was closed during the duration of the rescue, and no further information was immediately available.
