Infant Found Dead Near I-15

The Riverside Co. coroner to determine cause of death.

CORONA, CA– A baby believed to have been abandoned was found deceased Friday afternoon in the area of Cajalco Road and Interstate 15, according to authorities.

The Corona Police Department was called at about 2:30 p.m. and "directed to the location of the infant," the agency said, but did not disclose who found the child or any other details, including sex or age.

The Riverside County Sheriff Coroner will determine the cause of death, police said.

Police reminded the public that there are several Safe Surrender Sites, where parents can safely surrender an infant within 72 hours of birth and with no questions asked.
