A 56-year-old Lake Elsinore man was killed, and two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on a Lakeland Village street this week.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A 56-year-old Lake Elsinore man was killed, and two people were injured in a Lakeland Village crash Monday, California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Lassig said.
The crash victim has not yet been identified pending notification of next of kin, Lassig said.
At about 3:15 p.m., a 2006 Honda Accord was headed northbound on Grand Avenue, just south of Perret Boulevard, when the driver veered through oncoming traffic and into two parked box trucks, Lassig said.

The Lake Elsinore man was the lone occupant of the Accord, and the reasons for deviating off course are still under investigation.
The Accord was driving at an estimated 55 miles per hour when it collided head-on with an Isuzu box truck parked on the opposite shoulder, according to Lassig. The force of the crash sent that parked vehicle into a second parked box truck where two people sat inside.
