Lake Elsinore Man Faces Attempted Murder Charge, Held On $1M Bail

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A 41-year-old Lake Elsinore man is being held on $1 bail after allegedly attacking another man with a knife Wednesday, authorities said Thursday.

Michael Losoya was identified as the suspect and arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for attempted murder and resisting arrest. He was being held on $1,000,000 bail, according to Sgt. Perry Willow.

At 10:45 p.m., Riverside County Sheriff's Department's Lake Elsinore station deputies were called to the 32000 block of Riverside Drive.

"The victim reported being attacked with a knife by a white male adult and sustained injuries to his head," the department said. "After a search of the area, the suspect was located a short distance away and was taken into custody.

Losoya resisted arrest, according to the charges.

"The victim was medically evaluated at the scene but refused additional medical assistance," the department said.

Losoya was scheduled to appear in court at Murrieta Southwest Justice Center on Tuesday at 8 a.m., according to jail records.
